When does Fleetwood Children's Centre open?

We open on September 1, 2026 at 16011 83 Avenue in the Fleetwood neighbourhood of Surrey. Spaces are limited for our first year, so we encourage families to book a tour and join the enrolment list early.

How do I book a tour?

Use the form on our Book a Tour page, or call 604-503-0149, or email info@fleetwoodchildrenscentre.com. We will set up a time to walk you through the centre, meet you and your child, and answer every question you have.

What ages do you accept?

We offer two programs: an Infant and Toddler Program for children 0 to 36 months, and a 3 to 5 Years Program for older children. Both run Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 6:00 pm.

How does the waitlist work?

After your tour, you can join our enrolment list for the program that fits your child's age. We offer spaces in the order families joined the list, and we keep you updated so you are never left guessing.

How do you help children settle in?

Every child starts with a gradual entry. Short visits come first, often with a parent nearby, and we build up to full days as your child gets comfortable. It makes those first drop offs much gentler for everyone.

What does a typical day look like?

Days blend free play, small group activities, outdoor time, meals and rest. Infants and toddlers follow their own rhythms for feeding and naps, while our 3 to 5 room follows a gentle routine with circle time, learning centres and daily outdoor play.

Do children go outside every day?

Yes, rain or shine. Fresh air is part of every day, so please send boots and a rain jacket in the wet months. We only stay inside when weather is truly unsafe.

What should my child bring?

A change of clothes, indoor shoes, weather gear and any comfort item your child loves. Families in the infant room also bring diapers, wipes and bottles or formula. We will give you a simple checklist before your first day.

How will I know how my child's day went?

You hear from us every day. Infant and toddler families get updates on meals, naps and diaper changes, and every family gets the little stories that matter, like a first step or a new friend.

Is the centre licensed?

Yes. We are opening as a licensed centre under Fraser Health Community Care Facilities Licensing, which sets and inspects standards for staffing, safety, space and programming in Surrey child care centres.

What qualifications do your educators have?

Our educators hold Early Childhood Educator certification with the BC ECE Registry, along with first aid training and clear criminal record checks. Infant and toddler staff carry the additional Infant Toddler Educator training.

Question 12

What happens when a child is sick?

We follow Fraser Health illness guidelines. Children who are unwell rest at home until they are ready to play again, and we always call you promptly if your child becomes sick during the day.
